Journey's Carbon Fiber series is handcrafted using Journey Instruments' proprietary formulation of prepreg sheets (carbon fiber sheets impregnated with resin). The patented sound board has a unique cell structure that produces an amazingly warm, woody, yet articulate tone. The neck, fingerboard, body and bridge are all made of carbon fiber.
Difference between Journey and cheap carbon fiber products

About the tone
Tone was the number one priority when designing the Journey carbon fiber series. A top plate with carbon fiber sheets aligned in one direction, a side / back made by a unique lamination method combining the weave of carbon fiber sheets, an offset sound hole, and a bridge and fingerboard also made of carbon fiber. All the other parts work together to create a surprisingly large scale sound from a small, easy-to-play size.
